Demi Lovato has bipolar disorder

Demi Lovato has revealed that during a recent stay in a residential clinic she was diagnosed with bipolar disorder. Demi (18) underwent three months of treatment for an eating disorder while in the clinic, then discovered she was bipolar. The singer and actress announced yesterday that she was quitting her Disney show ‘Sonny with a Chance’ and is going to concentrate on her singing. She said in an interview, “I never found out until I went into treatment that I was bipolar. Looking back, it makes sense. There were times when I was so manic, I was writing songs in one night and I’d be up until 5.30 in the morning. I feel like I’m in control now, where before my life wasn’t in control.” The teen star also added that she felt proud of actress Catherine Zeta-Jones admitting to her treatment for bipolar disorder.
