Coldplay front man Chris Martin has likened marrying actress Gwyneth Paltrow to “winning the lottery”.
The musician confessed he had little romantic experience until he met the Great Expectations star, and he felt like a “loser” before they started dating in 2002.
“[Being married is] a big leap? What, from being a loser, to going out with an oscar winner?’ It’s a giant leap. Let’s face it, it’s like winning the lottery.” Chris says.
Chris married Gwyneth in 2003 and they have two children, Apple (7), and ooses (5) together, which he says gives their lives more purpose.
He added: “I like what [having children] does, just the idea of having to work hard so your kids are oK.”
Gwyneth has been equally complimentary of her Fix You singer husband, comparing him to Spanish artist Pablo Picasso.
She previously said: “He’s a musical genius. It’s like living with Picasso and being like, ‘Should I make a little something-something?'”
Gwyneth and Chris are notoriously very private about their relationship, which she says is partly to protect his rock star image.
She added: “He makes music for his fans, and he doesn’t want people to conjure a lame famous couple when they’re getting into his music. I get it.”
