After 33 years in radio, Jay-Jay Feeney has quit her job at More FM, bursting into tears as she announced live on air, “I need to take time to reset, recharge and rediscover myself.”

Speaking exclusively to us after the announcement, the Woman’s Day columnist says, “It was a surreal moment. I really didn’t know what I’d say exactly, so I just opened my mouth and let my heart speak.

“I’ve been getting a few concerned messages from middle-aged women worried I’m affected by menopause, but I’ve just been doing the same thing every day for a long time, and I was starting to lose my passion and excitement, so I knew it was time to make the call. It would’ve been safe and comfortable for me to continue doing the show, but I felt like I was lying to everyone by not putting 100% into it.”

Jay-Jay recently celebrated her 50th birthday with a star-studded bash.

Jay-Jay’s last day will be Friday 4th July and she’ll continue writing her Judge Jay-Jay column.

She jokes, “Is this a bad time to ask for a pay rise? This girl’s got rent to pay! But seriously, I absolutely love offering my advice and support to people who need it. Please keep your emails coming!”
