In a new interview with People, her royal wedding makeup artist, Daniel Martin, shared a touching story about how Meghan told him to keep calling her by her name after the royal wedding.

“I asked her that. ‘Do I bow to you? I don’t want to disrespect you, but I’ve known you for almost 10 years. What’s up?'” he recalled.

“She started laughing and she said, ‘I’m always going to be Meg. Meg.'”

“But next time I see them I will be respectful and know my protocol. But Meg is always going to be Meg, that’s how it is!” he added.

Meghan may now be a duchess, but to her friends she’s still the same old “Meg.”

The morning of the royal wedding, Kensington Palace announced Meghan and Harry’s official new titles.

“This morning it was announced that Prince Harry and Ms. Meghan Markle will become known as Their Royal Highnesses The Duke and Duchess of Sussex,” the royal family shared on Saturday, May 19.

On top of that, Meghan could adopt the royal family’s last name and become Rachel Meghan Mountbatten-Windsor if she wants.

We think it has a nice ring to it!

Martin continued to prove how relatable Meghan is when he shared she was so calm before walking down the aisle to marry Prince Harry.

“She didn’t seem nervous. She was very cool, she was regular Meghan,” the make-up artist shared.

“I think we were nervous, but we didn’t want to make her nervous so it was very chilled. Of course, brides have nerves, but if we didn’t put so much expectation on it, it wouldn’t have made her nervous. It was very even, very easy.”

Meg is the best!
