MAFS 2023: Meet the brides and grooms about to walk down the aisle

Get ready to say ‘I do’ as a new season of Married at First Sight is fast approaching.

This year, in their quest to find love, 10 new brides and 10 new grooms will meet for the first time at the altar on their wedding day after being matched by relationship experts John Aitken and Mel Schilling, and clinical sexologist Alessandra Rampolla.

So, without further ado, here are your contestants for Married at First Sight Australia 2023!

Brides

Jannelle, 28

The experts have their work cut out with beauty influencer Janelle, who has 36,000 Instagram followers. She says she’s “ridiculously picky” and “a handful” in relationships, plus her strict Singaporean family needs to approve of her partner.

Sandy, 36

Born into an Indian-Australian family, dental hygienist Sandy has never had a serious relationship. She’s insecure about her lack of experience and is hoping to be paired with someone compassionate at

a Bollywood-style wedding.

Melinda, 32

A CEO in the fashion and beauty industry, Melinda hopes to be matched with a businessman who’s as ambitious as she is. The challenge will be making the relationship work – in the past, she’s picked fights when she’s bored or insecure.

Bronte, 28

An online beauty educator, Bronte is used to attention. She finds herself drawn to alpha males, but too often she’s been betrayed and had her heart broken, which has left her with trust issues. She gets embroiled in one of the biggest-ever MAFS scandals from very early on!

Caitlin, 27

The makeup artist and nightclub host gave up on relationships after dating a string of “douchebags with big egos”. A homebody who loves her cat and playing video games, Caitlin is hoping for a match with the right man.

Alyssa, 35

Executive assistant Alyssa was raised as a Mormon in Utah. She was married for seven years and has a two-year-old son. She’s hoping to find her soulmate – he just needs to be taller than 180cm… and cry the first time he sees her!

Lyndall, 27

Accountant Lyndall has cystic fibrosis and didn’t expect to live beyond the age of 30, so she wasn’t planning on marriage or kids. But new medication has dramatically extended her life expectancy and now she’s ready to find true love.

Claire, 31

Feisty tomboy Claire has a Holden car tattoo, plus a passion for fishing, camping and motorbikes. Her Greek grandparents had an arranged marriage and the kindergarten assistant hopes her arranged MAFS marriage will last a lifetime.

Tahnee, 27

Tahnee, who’s half Thai, was an awkward teenager. She’s blossomed as an adult and has a good job as a PR manager, but she still struggles with relationships. Men are attracted to her but don’t ask her out – and she hates dating apps.

Melissa, 41

Single mum Melissa lives with her twin sister in Sydney. A hairdresser, she meets plenty of people through work, but believes MAFS is her last chance at finding real love. Her ideal man would look a lot like Thor!

Grooms

Duncan, 36

Gentlemanly Duncan, who works in cyber-security sales, is looking for a relationship that’s long-lasting, like his parents have. He wants to meet a confident, classy woman – and physical attraction is

a must.

Layton, 35

Biotech entrepreneur Layton’s latest venture involves medical cannabis for pets. Ambitious and hard-working, he’s ready for a relationship – as long as he can find a woman who’s just as driven to help him grow his business empire.

Adam, 35

Adam is back in Australia after six years living in London. The business owner spent most of his twenties in a relationship, but he realised once he got engaged that he was too young to settle down. Now he feels he’s old enough… or so he says!

Ollie, 26

This voiceover artist with a goofy streak knows what it feels like to be in love and is putting his trust in the experts to help him find “the one”. Ollie is looking for a strong, independent woman who can accept he can be lazy and stubborn at times.

Cameron, 27

A carpenter in indigenous outback communities, he’s used to wide open spaces, having grown up on a farm. Cam has never had a girlfriend and knows MAFS will be an eye-opener, but he’s hoping to find someone who can deal with his lifestyle.

Jesse, 30

Marriage celebrant Jesse has officiated at around 500 weddings but never tied the knot himself. His list of turn-offs when it comes to a partner include wine snobs, gym junkies and anyone who’s had cosmetic enhancement.

Josh, 40

Advertising client director Josh is a single dad who’s solid and reliable. When part of a couple, he has has a tendency to become submissive, but with the help of the MAFS relationship experts, he hopes to learn to stand up for himself.

Harrison, 32

The builder has a three-year-old and has spent the past two years casually dating. Although he admits he’s set the bar “ridiculously high”, he feels he’s ready to get serious and commit, but he plays a major part in a major MAFS scandal!

Dan, 42

Already semi-retired, digital marketing business owner Dan lives on the Gold Coast and drives a Porsche. Married twice and with a 16-year-old daughter, he’s looking for a partner who enjoys an outdoorsy lifestyle.

Shannon, 30

The joker of the pack, this personal trainer spent years in an on-off relationship and has a three-year-old daughter. He’s been hot-headed in the past, but after some reflection, he now believes he’s the “best version” of himself.
