With three movies wrapped and another two to come, Russell Crowe is enjoying a career resurgence – but it could cost him his relationship!

After reportedly getting down on one knee to propose to his long-term girlfriend Britney Theriot, 32, in Italy last February, insiders say wedding plans “are moving along at zero miles an hour”, setting off alarm bells that the 60-year-old actor might be getting cold feet.

“Russell’s schedule has been crazy this year and next year is looking even worse,” says a longtime pal. “He’s having a midlife career revival and not even Britney would expect him to turn these opportunities down, but it’s not leaving any room for wedding plans.”

In September, Russell’s bestie Jodie Foster reportedly urged him not to waste any more time. A friend reported, “In Jodie’s view, Russell has to make things official with Britney and not keep dragging this relationship on like it was just a never-ending Tinder date.”

In a twist of fate, Russell and Britney first met on the 2011 set of Broken City. However, there were no sparks back then as he was desperately fighting to save his marriage to Danielle Spencer, 55. Danielle is mum to his sons, Charles, 20, and Tennyson, 18.

“Everyone knows Russell spent the next five years trying to win Danielle back,” says an insider. “She’ll always be his one true love and he never thought he’d find anyone again. Reconnecting with someone familiar like Britney was a huge step forward for him.”

The actress-turned-real estate whiz has also been key in helping Rusty rebuild his career after a string of flops.

“She’s listed as his assistant on all of his projects now and she deserves it,” says an insider. “They do have a wonderful relationship, but if he keeps stringing her along, he might blow it. She wants to start a family at some point.”
