My beauty philosophy is… Beauty shines from the inside out. A compassionate soul and a bucketful of green veges help you radiate beauty and vitality.

The skincare products I can’t live without are… Dr Hauschka Clarifying Toner and Rose Day Cream and Kora Organics Luxurious Rosehip Body Oil. My skin also loves me taking Usana multi-essentials and Usana proflavanol C which contains the magical synergy of vitamin C, zinc and grapeseed extract as well as Udo’s oil – a plant-based essential fatty acid supplement. Oh, and getting eight hours sleep and a wholefood diet. My latest book, The Real Food Chef, is packed with recipes, beautiful images and information to inspire.

My haircare secret is… My suitcase is never without my Cloud Nine hair

straighteners. I have the best hairdresser in the universe, Auckland’s Natasha Radonich, and my hair loves her blow-waves!

The must-have products in my makeup bag are… Dr Hauschka Translucent Makeup and mascara. For fragrance, I love anything rose-based so often mix my own blend of oils to provide a subtle fragrance. And I love Kora Organics Hand Cream. I don’t leave home

without it.

My favourite beauty treat is… A blow-dry, a visit to the special Gwinganna Lifestyle Retreat in the Hinterland of the Gold Coast or an afternoon spent with my dearest girlfriend… so good for the soul.

My biggest beauty sin is… Sorry Mum, but I leave chipped nail polish on for a little too long.

The best thing my mother taught me about beauty was… Never drag your skin when applying or removing makeup. And an hour of sleep before midnight is worth two after. As a nutritional scientist I now know why this is true and why it makes such a difference.
